General Plan

Venture beyond the known trail on our latest discovery — a wild extension of the legendary Palo Blanco route. After exploring the ancient fossil beds, the journey unfolds across sweeping grasslands, hidden valleys, and glacial lagoons, leading you to the very source of the Maqui River. Here, we camp in a place that feels untouched by time: cradled between two turquoise lagoons, beneath the towering Lindero Magallanes mountain, and on the edge of enchanted forests where tales of duendes still linger in the wind. In the distance, the northern ice fields shimmer like a frozen ocean. The adventure ends with a descent on horseback through dense lenga forests, tracing the river’s path as it winds its way down through the wilderness.

Start and end: ~7km from Puerto Guadal “centro Erratica”

Number of days: 3 days

Total distance: ~50 km aprox.

What to Expect: Prepare for a multi-day horseback journey deep into Patagonia’s untouched wilderness. Each day brings new terrain and new challenges, from high-altitude pastures to dense lenga forests. Camp beside twin turquoise lagoons, beneath the towering Lindero Magallanes,  windy open grasslands and panaromic views, certain boggy sections, a little bushwacking through lenga forests.

Route variation: For those seeking an even greater adventure, it's possible to extend your journey with an additional night and a guided ascent of the iconic Lindero Magallanes mountain. If you're interested in this option, please let us know when you get in touch—this experience requires advance planning and good weather conditions.
