Day by day

Day 1 – Arrival & Orientation

  • Pickup from Balmaceda Airport
  • Scenic drive (~5 hours) to Puerto Guadal
  • Check-in to cabins
  • Welcome dinner
  • Week orientation and introduction to patagonia culture

Day 2 – Horse Connection & Gaucho Traditions

  • Horse connection workshop, including:
    • Horse behavior and basic biology
    • Introduction to Patagonian riding culture
    • Riding techniques and safety
    • Tack and equipment familiarization
  • Trail ride (~2 hours) to Maqui Waterfall
  • Return to cabins
  • Dinner and overnight
  • Full day riding with a local gaucho
  • Hands-on experience with herding sheep and cattle, including locating and checking livestock
  • Ride through private ranch lands, crossing hills, valleys, and Nothofagus forests
  • Learn about real working estancia life and daily routines
  • Traditional Patagonian BBQ lunch (asado) with wine
  • Return to cabins
  • Dinner and overnight

Day 3 – Begin Laguna El Maqui Horse Expedition

  • Start of 3-day / 2-night horseback expedition
  • Departure toward Laguna El Maqui region
  • Ride through valleys and open landscapes
  • Camp setup, dinner, and overnight in the field

Day 4 – Expedition Immersion

  • Full day riding through remote terrain
  • Exploration of fossil zones and high grasslands
  • Deep immersion into expedition lifestyle
  • Camp and overnight in nature

Day 5 – Return from Expedition

  • Final day of riding
  • Arrival back near Puerto Guadal
  • Transfer to cabins
  • Rest and recovery evening

Day 6 – Patagonia National Park & River Confluence

  • Visit Patagonia National Park (Valle Chacabuco sector)
  • Guided day hike through steppe ecosystems
  • Visit the confluence of the Baker and Neff Rivers
  • Return to Puerto Guadal cabins

Day 7 – Chile Chico & Jeinimeni Sector

  • Drive to Chile Chico (~2 hours)
  • Explore Jeinimeni sector:
    • Lunar Valley hike
    • Cave paintings trek
  • Explore Chile Chico town
  • Return to Puerto Guadal

Day 8 – Departure

  • Drive back to Balmaceda Airport
  • Drop-off for departure

Payment & Cancellation Policy

To secure your booking, a 50% advance payment is required. This deposit confirms and reserves your trip. The remaining 50% balance is due after the completion of your trip.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made at least 30 days prior to the trip are eligible for a refund of the advance payment. However, if the cancellation is made within 30 days of the trip, the 50% advance payment is non-refundable.

Weather Flexibility & Responsibility:
Weather conditions in Patagonia can be unpredictable and may change rapidly. While we make every effort to plan and operate the trip safely and enjoyably, we are not responsible for weather conditions or any disruptions they may cause. To accommodate this, we allow flexibility of 1–2 days to adjust the itinerary based on weather conditions. Please note that no refunds, either partial or full, will be issued due to weather-related changes, delays, or cancellations.
