Embark on an unforgettable journey—on horseback —toward the dramatic ridge: the Fossils Plateau. This stunning traverse links Puerto Guadal’s remote backcountry with the southern reaches of Patagonia National Park, offering panoramic views and a window into ancient geological history.

Meet at erratica centre. Receive a safety briefing and start the adventure.

The Ride
Begin your journey riding through private ranches, crossing gentle rivers, open meadows, and native Nothofagus forests, immersing yourself in the textures of the Patagonian landscape during the first two hours. You’ll then follow a quiet rural road for about 35 minutes, gradually gaining perspective of the surrounding valley.

From there, the ascent begins—winding uphill through dense lenga forests, with a few steeper sections that add a sense of adventure. As you reach the end of the treeline, the landscape opens into expansive grasslands, where we pause and leave the horses—rewarded with sweeping, breathtaking views of the lake and the distant Northern Ice Fields.
