We can assure you that you will be in the best hands to live the most special adventures.

Ilango Aaron — Co-Founder & Lead Guide

Ilango Aaron is a co-founder of Errática Patagonia and a guide whose deep connection to Patagonia is rooted in science, conservation, and lived experience in the wild. Originally from India, Ilango’s path has been shaped by a lifelong dedication to understanding and protecting natural ecosystems—an outlook formed early in life through close exposure to jungle environments and time spent living alongside tribal communities, where nature, culture, and survival are deeply intertwined. This foundation eventually led him to the remote landscapes of southern Chile.

With over a decade of experience in wildlife research and conservation, Ilango has worked across diverse ecosystems, contributing to field research, monitoring, and conservation initiatives focused on wildlife behavior, habitat protection, and ecosystem health. He has collaborated with internationally recognized organizations such as Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and WWF, gaining hands-on experience that informs every expedition he leads.

Alongside his scientific work, Ilango has been involved in humanitarian and social projects, supporting community-based initiatives connected to environmental stewardship and sustainable livelihoods. While secondary to his conservation career, this work has reinforced a holistic approach—recognizing that long-term conservation is inseparable from the well-being, knowledge, and resilience of local communities.

Based in Puerto Guadal, Ilango is an experienced horseman, wilderness guide, and certified firefighter. His calm leadership, deep ecological knowledge, and respect for the land create journeys that go beyond exploration, offering travelers a thoughtful and authentic way to experience Patagonia. For Ilango, Patagonia is more than a place—it is a living classroom and a shared responsibility. Through Errática Patagonia, he invites travelers to move slowly and consciously through the landscape, fostering genuine connections with nature while supporting conservation, local livelihoods, and unforgettable moments in the wild.

Totó — Co-Founder, Host & Operations Lead

Totó carries the soul of the Chilean countryside. Raised in a traditional huaso family, she grew up surrounded by a warm home, shared meals, open doors, and a natural instinct for hosting and caring for others. This upbringing shaped her deep appreciation for community, good food, and the simple rituals that make people feel truly welcome.

Over the years, Totó has traveled through India, Europe, and the United States, gaining firsthand insight into diverse ways of life, organic farming practices, sustainability models, and community-based livelihoods. These experiences, combined with her hands-on work in Patagonia, have led her to focus deeply on organic farming and regenerative living, collaborating with local and international projects rooted in land stewardship and food sovereignty.

At Errática Patagonia, Totó is the heart of the experience. She is the main host and oversees administration and operations, ensuring that every journey runs smoothly, thoughtfully, and with care. On select trips, she also joins as a guide and host, enriching the experience with her warmth, attention to detail, and genuine connection with guests.

Our philosophy

The word "erratic" comes from the Latin verb "errare," which means "to wander" or "to stray. In the Geological definition it refers to a boulder or rock formation that has been transported by a glacier or other geological process and is now located far from its original source. We believe this marriage of concepts is what defines us. Our co-founders have traveled from long distances and ended up in a spectacular amphitheatrical hillside (Erratica ranch) which is sprinkled with erratic rocks.

Our Vision

At Errática Patagonia, we see travel as a way to deepen understanding of wild landscapes, local ways of life, and our shared responsibility to protect them. We create small-scale, thoughtful journeys rooted in respect for nature, conservation, and genuine relationships with local communities.

Our Mission

To create positive economic impact through nature conservation and the preservation of cultural identity in remote territories. We design small-scale, conscious travel experiences rooted in education, respect, and stewardship—supporting local communities, wildlife protection, and regenerative ways of living.

We work hand in hand with a network of expert collaborators

We work alongside experts who know the land like the back of their hand. Our passionate collaborators are deeply connected to the local culture and history, who put their knowledge and heart into everything they do to offer you an authentic, enriching, and unforgettable experience.
